Originally from Co. Wexford and now living in Dublin, Liz is an artist who has worked in diverse aspects of the arts throughout her career. A graduate of the National College of Art and Design, Dublin where she studied woven textile design, she then worked for a number of years as a dyer in the textile industry. She has always drawn and painted and over the years has explored a wide range of media and approaches to image making. More recently Liz has developed an interest in portraiture, working on a small scale and in miniature. She has been awarded the Ireland US Council/ Irish Arts Review Award for Portraiture at the RHA 188th Annual Exhibition 2018. She has completed a number of portrait and illustration commissions, including Christmas 2017 and Love & Marriage 2018 stamps for An Post. Liz has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions and her work is displayed in corporate and private collections in Ireland and abroad. In addition to her work as an artist, she completed post-graduate training in art therapy and currently works as an art therapist with children.
